HBO Go users experienced difficulty while trying to watch the season four premiere of "Game of Thrones" on Sunday for the second time as users tried to use the network's streaming app, causing it to crash, CNN reported.
"HBO Go did experience issues due to overwhelming demand around the premiere of Game of Thrones," HBO said in a statement. HBO is a subsidiary of Time Warner, which also owns CNN.
M.G. Siegler, a partner at Google Ventures took to the internet, along with many other viewers, to express his frustration, CNN reported.
"You had one job, HBO Go ... ," wrote Siegler in a series of tweets that included an image of his screen with the persistent "Accessing HBO Go" message, according to CNN.
On March 9 during the finale of HBO's "True Detective," users received the same messages as access was denied for viewers to stream, CNN reported.
During the "Game of Thrones" premiere on Sunday night, the problem was fixed by 1 a.m. on Monday, according to CNN.
"Thanks for your patience #GOT fans. The service is now restored," HBO posted on its Twitter account for HBO Go, CNN reported.
Others took to social media sites to give their opinion on why HBO Go keeps experiencing crashes: borrowed username and password for HBO Go, according to CNN.
"So, like, at least 90 percent of the people trying to watch HBO GO instead of watching GOT on TV are using somebody else's login, right?" tweeted Linda Holmes, a writer for NPR's pop culture blog, Monkey See.
Walter Hickey, a lifestyle writer for FiveThirtyEight, said: "Hey, come on HBO Go, one of my roommate's parents [grandparents?] are paying good money for this."
