New York won Game 1 of the three-game series on Monday, 4-2. Monday also marked Yankees star Derek Jeter's last Opening Day game as a pro. To commemorate the occasion, the remainder of the Yankees' "Core Four" - Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte and Jorge Posada - reunited to wish Jeter farewell before the first pitch.

"It was a fun day," Jeter said, via ESPN. "It was fun right from the start with Andy, Mo and Jorge."

The fans also made an impression on the future Hall of Famer.

"They've treated me with respect," Jeter said earlier in the day. "I've always said that Yankees fans are the greatest fans in the world. That is no disrespect to any other team or any other sport. That's just how I feel."

Jeter hit a double and notched an RBI in the Yankees' Opening Day win.

Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova (1-0, 3.18 ERA) gets the start for Game 2. Nova helped the Yankees to a 4-2 win on Thursday against Houston in his first start of the season.

Opposing Nova will be Wei-Yin Chen (0-1, 6.35), whose start on Thursday against Boston ended in with a 4-3 loss.
