An 82-year-old man in Maryland has been charged in the shooting death of his wife, the Washington Post reported.
Authorities announced on Tuesday that Glen Treslar is facing a first-degree murder charge for killing his wife, 78-year-old Yvonne Treslar, in their home.
He is currently being held in Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
Police arrived at the Treslar residence on Monday after a concerned friend call 911. According to officers, Treslar said he shot his wife. They discovered Yvonne Treslar suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in their bedroom, where she was pronounced dead by the Baltimore County Fire Department.
Treslar also fatally shot the family dog, which officers found in the kitchen. He reportedly told police he and his wife got in an argument but did not specify why. He also did not explain why he shot the dog.
In January, William Dresser, 88, made headlines after he fatally shot his wife, Francis, 86, in an attempted murder-suicide plot. Dresser told authorities that his wife was paralyzed after an accident that happened two weeks ago and no longer wanted to live.
He had recently purchased the small-caliber handgun with four bullets -- "two for his wife and then two for him," the affadavit said.
