"Batman vs. Superman" writer David S. Goyer dishes on writing for the DC franchises and possibly teases a "Justice League" movie.
During an interview with IGN, Goyer revealed Warner Bros. Studios does want to make their universes a little more connected. Goyer also claims the possibility of a rumored "Justice League" release in the same time frame as the "Man of Steel" franchise films is a possibility.
"I mean, it's too early," Goyer told IGN. "I know that Warner Bros. would love to make their universe more cohesive. There have been a lot of general conversations about that, but it's really, really early. I'm not sure. Marvel has had enormous success, but I'm not sure that everybody should try to emulate them either. It's just been vague conversations so far."
Goyer admitted to IGN he appreciates Marvel and what the company was able to accomplish with their brand.
"You have to admire what Marvel's done," Goyer said. "It's really hard to create a brand, I mean, where people will follow your brand. Pixar's done it, and now Marvel has done it. It's really, really hard to do, because there's not a lot of brand loyalty anymore. They've created a cohesive universe, so I really admire what they've done."
"Batman vs. Superman" will be released to theaters on May 6, 2016.
It looks like Goyer's "Batman vs. Superman" production will have to compete with Marvel's "Captain America 3." On the heels of "Captain America: The Winter Solider" debuting with $96 million, the studio released a statement regarding the third installment.
"Following the record-breaking premiere of Marvel's 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' this past weekend, the First Avenger will jump into his next big screen solo adventure in just a little more than two years on May 6, 2016," Marvel said in a statement.
