The San Diego Padres play the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday in Game 2 of their series. The game starts at 12:05 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast below.
Cleveland (4-3) won Game 1 of the series on Tuesday, 8-6. Indians outfielder David Murphy played a big part in the win, accounting for a three-run homer and four RBIs. He looked like a completely different player than he did in spring training and the first four games of the season, where he struggled at the plate.
"That's what's so weird about it," Murphy told the Associated Press. "I felt so terrible most of spring training. I didn't feel like I necessarily resembled a big league hitter, and even in the first few games of the season. It's night and day."
Zach McAllister (0-0, 6.75 ERA) gets the start in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader, a makeup for Monday's weather-postponed game. McAllister's season debut again Oakland saw him give up three runs through four innings.
Padres pitcher Eric Stults is slated to oppose McAllister. Stults (0-1, 11.25) is coming off a terrible season debut, where he gave up five runs and seven hits on Friday in an 8-2 loss to Miami.
San Diego (2-5) will face Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Indians manager Terry Francona believes Bauer will have a better season in 2014 after having a full year to acclimate to the team.
"You're new to an organization and dealing with all the things he was last year, and maybe we didn't know quite the extent (of the adjustments he was making)." Francona told the team website. "I think he's better situated right now. I think he's more comfortable with himself and with us."
The second is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.
