Oakland dismantled Minnesota on Monday, 8-3. A's sluggers Yoenis Cespedes and Brandon Moss both notched two RBIs, and catcher Derek Norris drilled a 400-foot homer to help improve to a 4-3 record.

"When we're swinging well, we feel like we have a deep lineup," A's manager Bob Melvin told the the Associated Press.

The win also showed how Oakland plays as a team.

"Everyone knows their strengths and they don't go outside of their game, and I think that's what makes us a great overall ballclub and very deadly down the stretch of the whole season," Norris said.

A's pitcher Jesse Chavez (0-0, 1.50 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound on Tuesday. He gave up one run on five hits in Thursday's 3-2 win against Seattle.

Phil Hughes (0-0, 7.20) will oppose Chavez. He fanned seven White Sox batters while giving up four earned runs -- including two homers -- on seven hits in Thursday's 10-9 win against Chicago. He's traditionally played well at Target Field, where he has a 2.11 ERA in three career starts, according to the Associated Press.

Minnesota (3-4) will look to first baseman Chris Colabello to power the offense again. He's batting .370 and already has four doubles and 11 RBIs.

"I'm not trying to do too much," Colabello said. "I'm staying relaxed. It's nice to have that experience last year and learn from my mistakes."
