The St. Louis Cardinals look to complete three-game sweep at home of the Cincinnati Reds. Game 3 is on Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. ET. Listen to the radio broadcast below.
St. Louis (5-3) moved to 2-0 at home with Tuesday's win against Cincinnati. Although starting pitcher Lance Lynn gave up five earned runs in six innings, the Cardinals' offense rallied to deliver a 7-5 win against the Reds.
Yadier Molina had a homerun and an RBI, Matt Holliday hit a decisive two-run double and Peter Bourjous added an RBI in the seventh for good measure.
"There's no secret that he gets good run production," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny told the Associated Press after the game. "It's hard to explain with Lance. I think some guys just have a knack of being in the right place when we've got a lot of offensive support."
Three of Lynn's five earned runs came in the first inning, putting St. Louis in an early deficit.
"So far at the beginning of games I haven't been able to get that rhythm that I would like," he said. "I've had it later in games and I need to get a better rhythm out of the gate and I'll be all right."
Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller (0-1, 8.44 ERA) is scheduled to start on Tuesday.
Cincinnati (2-6), looking to avoid being swept at Busch Stadium, will start Mike Leake on the mound. Leake (0-1, 5.40) went 0-2 with an 8.27 ERA in three starts last season against the Cardinals, according to the Associated Press.
