The late Paul Walker will be honored in a tribute during the MTV Movie Awards after a car accident ended his life in 2013.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the "Fast & Furious" actor will be honored for his work on screen as well as his humanitarian efforts off-screen. "Fast & Furious" costar Jordana Brewster introduced the tribute, which will be a series of clips of the actor.
"Paul Walker was a role model for the MTV audience since the very beginning of his too-short career. Our audience grew up with him, from 'Varsity Blues' to the 'Furious' franchise," MTV President Stephen Friedman told the LA Times about the tribute. "He was a movie star but one that they could relate to."
"Paul's humanity and kindness clearly showed through every role," he added. "We're honored to be able to spend a moment in this year's Movie Awards to celebrate him."
Walker will be one of many actors who will be rememeber during the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, including the late Philip Seymour Hoffman and James Gandolfini. Walker founded the organization called Reach Out Worldwide, a foundation which provides aid to people whose homes were destroyed during natural diasters. The charity helps rebuild homes all around the world.
The "Fast & Furious" actor died in a car accident on Nov. 30, 2013. Officials confirmed the driver of the vehicle was traveling more than 90 mph at the time of the accident. Walker was on his way to a ROW charity event before the crash.
"Walker died of 'severe blunt head, neck and chest trauma,' sustaining a broken arm, wrist, jaw and ribs, according to the coroner's report. The fire burned his body beyond recognition," the LA Times reports.
Walker's friend, fellow ROW co-founder and driver of the car Roger Rodas died of similar injuries.
