Johnny Rockets Announces 'Build-Your-Own-Burger Ordering Option

Starting April 14, Johnny Rockets customers can opt for the food chain's new "build-your-own-burger" ordering option.

Have you ever wished that you could customize your juicy burger according to your personality? Here's your chance. Last week, Johnny Rockets announced a new ordering concept titled "Build-your-own-burger" (B.Y.O.B.). For a starting price of $5.49, customers can choose from a broad range of hamburger toppings. The choice starts with one of four protein options including chicken breast, turkey, 100-percent soy Boca burger or Johnny Rockets one-third pound hamburger made with fresh, all-natural beef.

Topping options include lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, jalapenos, relish and variety of cheeses and newly introduced sauces. Add-ons include all-meat chili, fried eggs, smoked bacon, grilled peppers, mushrooms and onion rings. The menu option will be available starting April 14, 2014

"Our wide range of high-quality, fresh ingredients gives our guests the opportunity to create their dream burger," said John Fuller, Johnny Rockets President and CEO in a press release. "Although we are a heritage brand with a deeply-rooted 27-year history, we are committed to listening to our guests and letting them customize their Johnny Rockets experience."

The fast food chain will also debut an all new artisan burger bun at the same time as the B.Y.O.B launch. The new options come as an attempt to build on the brand's core products, according to Examiner. Customers can add the restaurant's signature crispy American fries and premium ice cream shakes to their B.Y.O.B order.

Johnny Rockets was founded by Ronn Teitelbaum in June, 1986. The company opened its first restaurant in Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles. Since then, Johnny Rockets has grown to more than 300 locations across the globe, serving 18 million hamburgers each year.

Recently, it was announced that Hawaii will see its first Johnny Rockets open under a development agreement between the restaurant chain and an affiliate of E.K. Fernandez Shows and Fun Factory Inc.

"We love seeing people have a good time at our properties and events and always strive to make sure our customers spend their time immersed in the happy moments that we provide," Fun Factory President and CEO Linda Fernandez said in a statement. "Our core values and company culture fall directly in line with those of Johnny Rockets, making this franchise opportunity an ideal fit."

The global hamburger franchise also featured on the latest episode of TNT's new reality series, "Inside Job".
