The MTV Movie Awards is not one of those events where stars wear their most conservative ball gown. Here, many fashion divas like to push the envelope, style-wise and experiment with their looks. While some manage to nail it time and again, other's turn up as fashion disasters.
The 2014 MTV Movie Awards was no exception though there were a few pleasant surprises and some big disappoints on the Red Carpet. In fact, this year there were more fashion disasters and no star in particular stood out. Let's take a look at some of the best and worst dressed ladies of the night.
Best Dressed: Nicki Minaj
Jessica Alba was the other head-turner at the event. Her white cropped top and yellow skirt looked cute and appropriate for the evening. She wore her hair loose and had minimal makeup. The big black clutch purse seemed a little out of place but Alba managed to carry that off in style.
Best Dressed: Rita Ora
Rita Ora was one of the best dressed ladies for the night. She looked dashing in a floor-length black gown by Barbara Casasola. It had scalloped shoulders and gathered in at the waist, showing off how her thin waist. The dress had a plunging neckline, almost to her navel, it was eye-catching and classy. Since the dress was so low cut, she chose a very delicate gold necklace by Jennifer Fisher. She also wore rings by Lorraine Schwartz, heels by Giuseppe Zanotti and an amazing black and gold Edie Parker clutch.
Worst Dressed: Lupita Nyong'o
What happened to Lupita Nyong'o? This actress has absolutely nailed it at all the earlier award ceremonies. This Oscar winner traded her classy gowns for a shorter black and white frock covered with colored confetti! Unfortunately, it didn't work out too well for her. The shoes didn't match the dress and the "12 Years A Slave" looked a complete fashion disaster. Maybe it was just not her day - fashion wise.
Worst Dressed: Rihanna
Alright! So you may be a fashion diva but there are still certain rules to a good dressing style. Rihanna looked like she had walked out of her bathroom and landed right at the MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet. Her face and makeup looked flawless but there's absolutely no excuse for turning up at an award function looking like you're ready to jump into bed ot maybe go for a swim.
Worst Dressed: Victoria Justice
She may not be a fashion queen but there must have been something better than the purple number she wore to the event in her wardrobe. Her sheer dress didn't go down too well with fashion enthusiasts. She looked like she had gathered pieces of cloth and sewn them up to make an outfit. Even then the stitches looked clumsy and awkward. The dress also looked like it was missing a strap! The only saving grace was her makeup and accessories.
