"Come & Get It" singer Selena Gomez is on the hunt for a new manager after firing her parents. TMZ broke the news that Gomez surprisingly told her parents, Mandy and Brian Teefy, that they would no longer manage her career.
A source told the site that her parents were blindsided by the split but Gomez feels she has outgrown her parents and needs to move on to someone who has experience representing other A-list stars. Mandy and Brian have been representing Gomez since her days as a Disney star.
"Selena remains close with both of her parents, although they're not happy about the decision," TMZ writes.
The 21-year-old singer has not made a final decision about her new manger yet but according to Hollywood Life, Gomez is considering Kris Jenner. Gomez, who has been spending a lot of time with Kendall and Kylie Jenner, reportedly thinks "it would be best to stay close to people who are managing her friends careers," the source told the site.
"Both Justin [Bieber] and the Jenner sisters have given their best pitches and Selena is highly considering working with either Scooter [Braun] or Kris," the source said. "One thing that is good out of this situation is that she's really taking her time in making the decision. But both of them definitely have first dibs."
There were reports that she was leaning more toward Braun as her new manager so she could remain close to her boyfriend.
"It shouldn't come as much of a surprise but Scooter Braun is definitely on the top of the list as the person who will end up managing Selena's career," a source close to Gomez told Hollywood Life.
"It is definitely something she has talked with [Scooter] and Justin about and in the next few months it really might come to reality," the source added. "She is highly considering it."
