The Albuquerque Police Department is asking the public to help them find a teenage runaway, KOB-TV reported.
David McArthur, 16, was last seen on April 9 before leaving school and running off between New Coors and Old Coors.
He is described as 5'5" tall and weighing 200 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, shorts, and grey sneakers, police said. According to his family members, he has developmental disabilities.
Anyone with information on McArthur's whereabouts is asked to call the APD at (505) 242-2677 or Det. Janette Kimblerlin with the APD Missing Persons Unit at (505)-924-6094.
The APD Twitter account also uploaded a tweet to get the word out on McArthur's disappearance, which has already been retweeted 21 times.
"Missing Teen:Please call 242-COPS if you see David McArthur. He ran away & is developmentally delayed.16ys,200lbs,5'5" the tweet said.
The case is eerily similar to that of Avonte Oquendo -- an autistic New York teen who went missing from school in October 2013, prompting a city-wide search for the missing boy.
In January, a human torso, limbs, and head were found in the East River. After analyzing DNA tests from the remains, Oquendo's mother, and his toothbrush, authorities confirmed the remains belonged to Oquendo, Newsday reported.
However, city officials could not rule if his death was the result of a murder or an accidental drowning.
