A 17-year-old boy in San Diego, California was arrested on Wednesday after making threats on social media websites, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The boy allegedly made threats against a charter school teacher in Point Loma and a middle school in Clairemont. According to NBC San Diego, he threatened to shoot the teacher and open fire in the charter school, where he is a student.
After being arrested, he was transported to Juvenile Hall on a possible charge of making a terroristic threat, the Times said.
Investigators found a second post, made in March, that threatened to shoot up Marston Middle School in Clairemont. However, police are still determining his ties to that school, aside from the fact that he lives close to it.
Parents and students at the middle school told NBC San Diego that they weren't notified of the threats.
"We should have been notified. Definitely!" said one parent. "I probably wouldn't have sent my daughter to school, maybe."
Authorities have not released the boy's name.
A search of his family's home did not find any guns or weapons, the San Diego Police Department said. An investigation by police and school authorities is ongoing.
