San Francisco (10-5) can sweep the three-game series on Thursday with a win. Their pitching has been on point, helping to take Game 2 on Tuesday with a 2-1 win. Starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong allowed only one run on four hits, and third baseman Pablo Sandoval hit the go-ahead single in the seventh to score second baseman Joaquin Arias from second.

"After the walk, I just tried to tell myself that I've got to try to do better in that situation and try to do the best that I can out there," Sandoval told the Associated Press after the game. "After the first swing, I just told myself, 'Calm down. Get a pitch and try to play pepper to the middle of the field.'"

Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner (2-0, 3.31 ERA) starts on Thursday. He's coming off a 6-5 win on Friday against Colorado, whom he gave up four runs to while notching seven strikeouts. He also hit a grand slam in the game.

"They don't really expect a whole lot out of pitchers so we get to go up there with no pressure," Bumgarner said. "It's easier to hit that way, but at the same time it's the hardest thing to do in sports."

Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu (2-1, 2.57) is scheduled to oppose Bumgarner. He pitched seven scoreless innings on Friday against Arizona while fanning eight batters. The Dodgers won, 6-0.
