Police arrested NFL receiver Titus Young in California for the third time in a week.
According to authorities, the 23-year-old Young was arrested Friday night in San Clemente for allegedly breaking into a home, Yahoo! Sports reported. Police claim Young fled on foot and then fought with police after being pursued. No injuries were reported.
"He actually tried to fight with them," Orange County Sheriff Lt. Joe Balicki said. "But there were more deputies than him so they were able to subdue him without - I guess there were some punches thrown, but they were able to get him into handcuffs without too much damage."
He is being held on $75,000 bail.
Friday night's arrest is his third in less than a week. Police arrested him twice within a 15-hour span on May 5. His first arrest came shortly after midnight for driving under the influence. Moreno Valley police booked him, issued him a citation and released him that morning.
Less than 15 hours later, Police arrested Young again — this time for attempted burglary. Police took Young into custody at 2:22 p.m. after catching him trying to steal his own car, which had been impounded upon his earlier arrest, from a tow yard.
Young's NFL career has been overshadowed by behavioral problems. Drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2011, he has since made numerous headlines for multiple instances of team insubordination. Detroit released Young in February.
Jeff Fisher and the St. Louis Rams claimed the embattled receiver from waivers, but they ultimately released him 10 days later.
Young has 81 receptions, 990 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in his two-year career. He's currently a free agent.
