Authorities in Massachusetts discovered a body of a child along Interstate 190 on Friday, the Boston Globe reported.

Investigators believe the body is of Jeremiah Oliver, a missing five-year-old Fitchburg boy who disappeared last year.

An unidentified official told the Globe the body was discovered on an embankment located 35 to 40 feet off the road in an area with tall grass.

The body has been removed and will be likely receive an autopsy soon. Both local and state police are performing a full investigation of the area to gather more evidence in the case.

The Worcester district attorney's office is planning to hold a news conference at 2 p.m., according to the Globe.

A nearby resident, who would not give reporters her name, said the area was "covered with police" since 11 a.m.
