A man in Washington state was stabbed to death after trying to break up a fight between a woman and her boyfriend on Monday morning.
According to QFox13 News, Everett Police were called to a townhouse complex around 2 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the stabbing victim and a woman administering CPR.
Neighbors told local media that the incident began after the suspect and the suspect's girlfriend began arguing. When the fight got physical, the victim tried to intervene -- prompting the suspect to start stabbing him and flee shortly after.
Officers initially couldn't locate the suspect but finally found him blocks away with the help of a K-9. He was arrested and is being questioned by police, QFox13.com said.
The names of the suspect and victim have not been released. Both men and the woman reportedly lived together in the townhouse complex.
Neighbors are calling the victim a "hero" for trying to stop the fight between the couple.
"He was always a great guy," neighbor Andrew Weber said. "He was always smiling. They were just out here barbecuing having a grand ole time you know."
Tom Yazwinksi, a reporter for Q13Fox, said residents have been allowed back inside their townhomes.
Further details on the investigation have not been released.
