A report released by police in Hartford, Conn. shows that the grandmother who fatally shot her two young grandsons last year before killing herself left a note for the parents saying that they "did not deserve to have the children."
Debra Denison, 47, was supposed to pick up 2-year-old Alton Perry and 6-month-old Ashton Perry from a North Stonington daycare center Feb. 26, 2013, and take them to a birthday party.
But she along with the young boys went missing. Police issued an Amber Alert and a few hours later police found Denison's vehicle at a nearby lake. The children were found dead and police concluded that Denison killed herself too by shooting herself in the head.
The report released by the police suggested that Denison had mental problems and she had attempted suicide six times before. She also did not have a good relationship with her daughter Brenda Perry,24, the mother of the children.
The note stated, that the parents, Brenda and Jeremy Perry (father of the children) did not deserve to have the children and they needed to suffer the loss of their children, according to state police Detective David Lamoureux, reports the Examiner.
According to the Associated Press, Brenda said that Denison had self-control problems, dissociative identity disorder, and that Denison had "told Jeremy lies about her (Brenda) in attempts to break up their relationship and she became more easily agitated after they married and had children."
Brenda, said that despite all the problems she tried to maintain a relationship with her mother.
After the police released the report yesterday, the Connecticut State Police said that the Denison murder-suicide case was now closed and no further investigation would be done.
