Woman Found Dead In Texas Apartment Complex After Reports Of Shooting

A woman was found dead in a Texas apartment complex on Monday morning following reports of a shooting.

According to CBS News, authorities responded to a call made at 7:20 a.m. When officers arrived at the Quail Village Apartments in Balch Springs, they discovered the woman lying in the bushes.

The first call to police was reportedly made around 5 a.m. When police responded to the first call, they arrived on the scene without finding anything, Fox News said.

The name of the victim has not been released and it is unknown if she was a resident at the apartment complex.

Residents claim the victim was shot as she was leaving her vehicle. They also said they believe she had just returned from dropping her husband off at work.

Police are still investigating the shooting and the crime scene is still active. Authorities with the Dallas County Sheriff's Department are also participating in the investigation, according to NBC News.

The Balch Springs Police Department uploaded a photo of the crime scene and a media release to their Twitter account.
