Photographer Terry Richardson Dropped By Vogue After Sex Allegations Make Headlines

Vogue magazine has dropped their regular photographer Terry Richardson after sex allegations involving model Emma Appleton started making the rounds.

Model Emma Appleton alleges that the fashion and portrait photographer Terry Richardson offered her a photo shoot in Vogue in exchange for sex. The allegations have driven the magazine to dump the photographer.

"The last assignment Terry Richardson had for U.S. Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future," Hildy Kuryk, communications director for U.S. Vogue told The Wrap.

Last Sunday (April 20th), the model took to her Twitter account to post a picture that was reportedly a screenshot of her conversation with Richardson through Facebook messenger.

"If I can f--k you I will book you in (New York) for a shoot for Vogue," the message read.

Interestingly, Appleton's Twitter account was deleted the very same day and the picture was nowhere to be found. However, a few screenshots and links to the tweets remain as proof that the model did indeed accuse the photographer of asking for sexual favors.

Before deleting her account, the model sent out a few more tweets, adding to the confusion surrounding her earlier post.

"Beginning to wish I hadn't posted that," she tweeted, according to NY Daily News. "It doesn't matter who you are or what the industry is, just be a decent human being... The fact people think this is acceptable blows my f--king mind."

A rep of the photographer confirmed to BuzzFeed that the news was fake and the message was not sent to Appleton from Richardson. However, the tabloid said the model insisted that that post was authentic and that she had deleted her Twitter account because she "doesn't want abuse or attention." She also sent out an Instagram post with the same message.

This is not the first time Richardson has been a victim (or not) of sexual allegations. Earlier in March, former model Charlotte Waters shared a Reddit Post where she talked about her harrowing experience with Richardson. The posting was anonymous until Waters came forward. In the posting, she described an interaction with Richardson that began as a typical fashion shoot, but allegedly quickly escalated into unwanted sexual advances and acts, which included Richardson asking her to perform oral sex on him.

In 2010 model Jamie Peck detailed an encounter with the photographer in which he apparently stripped naked and asked her to perform a sex act. Just a few days prior to this, supermodel Rie Rasmussen slammed the fashion photographer in front of the Paris Fashion Week crowd calling his work "completely degrading to women," Page Six reports.

Following all the accusations, Richardson wrote an open letter to Huffington Post, addressing the rumors.

"I collaborated with consenting adult women who were fully aware of the nature of the work, and as is typical with any project, everyone signed releases," he wrote on March 14. "I have never used an offer of work or a threat of rebuke to coerce someone into something that they did not want to do."
