U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren Will Not Run For President In 2016 (VIDEO)

Despite some speculation, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren told "CBS This Morning" on Tuesday that she will not be running for president in 2016.

"You can ask this a lot of different ways. The key is, I am not running for president," Warren said on the CBS morning show.

"I'm out here working on the issues we need to work on right now. And I gotta say them: we need to refinance the student loan debt that's outstanding, we need to raise the minimum wage, we need to secure social security and we need to hold those big financial institutions accountable, and we need to not put that off. We have to work on it right now. Like I talk about in the book, I got a fighting chance, we have to make sure that our kids have a fighting chance," she told hosts Charlie Rose and Gayle King.

She also told them she is committed to working on consumer protection issues. Additionally, she expressed some disappointment that President Barack Obama did not choose her to lead a new consumer protection agency.

However, Warren added it "was never about a political future for me."

The Massachusetts senator also took time to discuss economic disparities in the U.S., claiming "we have to make changes right now" to provide equal opportunities for every citizen.

This is not the first time Warren has been asked in TV interviews about a potential run in 2016. Within the past two days, "CBS Sunday Morning" and "ABC World News" also asked her the same question.

Though she has appeared among Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden as a Democratic favorite in polls, Warren's new memoir, "A Fighting Chance," has prompted the extra speculation by major news outlets.
