‘The Voice’ Coach Adam Levine Quitting, Might Not Return for Season 7?

Adam Levine won't be returning to his red chair next season on "The Voice." According to Hollywood Life, Levine said he wasn't sure if he would be back for Season 7 of the singing competition show. The Maroon 5 singer blamed his hesitation on a hectic agenda telling Hollywood Life that he would have "to check my schedule" before making a final decision.

The "Move Like Jagger" singer told the site that he couldn't confirm (or deny) whether Gwen Stefani would be replacing pregnant Christina Aguilera next season but said he thought Stefani "would be a really good addition to the show if she were to be on it."

"But that's only a rumor as of now," Levine added.

TMZ broke the story. According to the site sources close to the show said that the No Doubt star will begin taping for the upcoming season in June. Reportedly producers started looking for a new coach back in February when Aguilera first revealed she was expecting a second child.

According to the source, producers wanted to keep the "Beautiful" singer but Aguilera decided to sit Season 7 out because she was already having a difficult time meeting the obligations. TMZ reports that Stefani's contract with "The Voice" is only for a year and Aguilera is expected to return for Season 8.

The show recently announced that "Happy" singer Pharrell Williams signed on as a Season 7 coach. He will replace Cee Lo Green who surprisingly announced his retirement during an appearance on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show."

"Okay, we can OFFICIALLY say it! WE ARE SO #APPY to announce PHARREL WILLIAMS = #NEWVOICECOACH for SEASON 7," the show's Twitter page posted
