"Batman Vs. Superman" has reportedly added another superhero. According to Variety, Ray Fisher will play Victor Stone aka Cyborg in the "Man of Steel" sequel. Fisher is a new face when it comes to movies but is well known for his theater roles.
He portrayed in boxer Muhammad Ali in the Broadway play "Fetch Clay, Make Man." Sources told Variety that Cyborg won't have a big role in "Batman Vs. Superman" but is expected to make a bigger appearance in future Warner Bros. films. There were rumors that the studio is planning on releasing a "Justice League" movie, which Cyborg would more than likely be a part of.
In the bonus feature on the DVD release of the original "Man of Steel," Henry Cavill (Superman) said he wanted to see Cyborg in the sequel.
"I think he would create an incredible bridge between superheroes and humanity," he said about the Cyborg character.
Fisher will join Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and of course Cavill as Superman. Also in the film is Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Keaton as Martha Kents, Lawrence Fishburne as Perry White and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.
In related Batman news, Keaton recently told The Hollywood Reporter that test shots of the Batman and Superman costumes had started and she caught a glimpse of them. She told THR that she "filmed a few shots of her feeling the Superman costume" but jokingly said she wasn't able to get her hands on the Batsuit.
Zack Snyder also revealed that test shots had been done on all three costumes - Batsuit, Superman's costume and Wonder Woman's suit - and he found the whole process to be "fascinating."
"The thing also that's really fascinating for me is that, even just in the tests we've been doing, the costumes, right? You basically have Batman and Superman - and this is without Ben and Henry in the costumes, but just like the stand-ins, just testing to see what the costumes look like," Snyder told Forbes. "And you have them standing in the same shot - and then we have Wonder Woman, you know, all three of them in the same shot. Even just for a test, you really have to go, 'Wow, that's crazy!'"
"Batman Vs. Superman" is expected to hit theaters May 6, 2016.
