Two People Injured In Atlanta Shooting

Two people were injured in a shooting in Atlanta on Friday morning, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Around 11 a.m., police received a call about gunfire in the 2300 block of Fairway Circle. According to police spokesman Sgt. Greg Lyon, one man and one woman were shot.

Both victims were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the woman was listed in critical condition.

Lyon said the male was shot in the jaw but said his condition was "not as critical" as the woman's.

Further details were not immediately available. The names of the victims have not been released and an investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday, a shooting occurred outside of a recording studio in northwest Atlanta.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m., when a group of people encountered a gunman driving a white Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows.

"Supposedly a car came down the street with no headlights and opened fire for no apparent reason," Atlanta Police Spokesman Capt. Jack Snowden told the AJC.

One man was shot in the back and another man was pistol-whipped in the head.

The names of the victims have not been released and a motive for the shooting is still unknown, though investigators were able to recover a handgun from the crime scene.
