Manchester City visits Reading on Tuesday for its second-to-last Premier League match of the regular season.
Tuesday's match will be Man City's first game without manager Roberto Mancini, who was fired on Monday. Interim manager Brian Kidd, who replaced Mancini, needs his team to bounce back after this weekend's FA Cup final loss to Wigan Athletic, 1-0. Man City needs only one point against Reading to secure second-place in the Premier League, according to SB Nation.
Man City has played only twice at Madejski Stadium and lost both times. With Manchester's Pablo Zabaleta suspended and the flux at manager, No. 19 Reading has the opportunity for an upset.
"Momentum is massive," Reading goalie Alex McCarthy said. "We know we can win games in the Premier League and if we can end with three wins and take that into next year it would do us the world of good. It would be nice to finish the season with three wins on the bounce and give us a lot of confidence going into next season."
Relegated Reading doesn't want to finish at the bottom of the league standings, and players have the added incentive to impress new manager Nigel Adkins with a win.
Midfielder Hope Apkan could play after missing four games with an ankle injury. Winger Jimmy Kebe (groin) and striker Jason Roberts (hip) are not available for the game.
Man City will be without Zabaleta, who was suspended after his ejection on Saturday, and Scott Sinclair (injury).
