Beyonce has reportedly influenced everyone, including singer Mariah Carey.
During an interview with Billboard Magazine, the 44-year-old singer said she will soon be dropping her 14th album and is taking a leaf out of Mrs. Carter's book on how to introduce her work.
In December, Beyonce dropped her fifth studio album without a regular press release or warning to fans.
Carey will similarly announce the title, track listing, artwork, and music at one time via various digital partners. The five-time Grammy winner said the album is named after "a personal possession of mine that's part of an entity that I've had almost all my life."
"I have to be the one that announces this, especially the title," Carey explained in the newest issue of Billboard magazine, where she graces its cover in a black and white photo.
"You would think I would be all about the singles-driven situation, and I am in a way, but with this particular album, I want my fans to hear it as a body of work," she continued. "This is my life since we last left off. Just picture a dot dot dot, and then here's the album."
The mother of two said she has been working on the album since 2010, before she and husband Nick Cannon welcomed their twins Moroccan and Monroe. Carey is working with producers like Rodney Jerkins, Jermaine Dupri, Hit-Boy & Mike WiLL Made It. The album reportedly includes collaborations with Wale, Nas, Trey Songz and a secret collaborator.
"A special guest star that I'm not allowed to reveal," Carey teased.
Carey's last album, 2009's "Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel" sold 549,000 copies and produced one top ten hit. The songstress' summer 2013 duet with Miguel, "Beautiful," managed to climb to a notable No. 15 on Billboard Hot 100 and gained over 1.2 million downloads.
Last year, she sparked retirement rumors after appearing on "Watch What Happens Live."
"If this were to be my last album, people would hear everything they needed to hear," the "Heartbreaker" singer said. "I will always make music. When I said it could be my last, that's because tomorrow's not promised to anyone."
