Samsung's Galaxy S5 zoom camera smartphone will reportedly feature a never-before-seen optical zoom when the company introduces the mobile device on Tuesday.
The company told consumers to prepare for the news on their Instagram page.
"Meet #TheNextGALAXY. Join us for a live update on April 29 at 11AM SGT," Samsung said in the post.
According to gadgets.ndtv.com, the event will take place at Singapore's Red Dot Design Museum, and will feature an updated phone model from the company's main Galaxy S4 Zoom.
The phone, also dubbed the Galaxy K Zoom, is expected to have a 4.8-inch screen, a 20 megapixel sensor, 10x optical zoom, an image stabilizer for taking clear photos, a camera shutter button and a button to zoom in or out.
The device also has a 1.6 gigahertz processor, along with two gigabytes of random access memory or RAM, and Android's Kitkat operating system.
The company's Galaxy S5 zoom announcement comes after some consumers who are also Verizon customers began seeing an error message pertaining to the phone's camera.
Verizon told the company's consumers with affected devices to expect a new smartphone when the company sends out replacements.
"Galaxy S5 customers who see 'Warning: Camera Failed' please contact @VZWsupport and we'll work to resolve it, including replacing the device," the company said in a post on their Twitter account, Friday
The Galaxy S5 operates on Android's 4.4 KitKat system. The phone also has a 5.1 inch 1080 pixel high definition screen, a 2.5 gigahertz quad core processor, and 16 megapixel camera according to Ars Technica.
Samsung's Galaxy S4 Zoom has a 1.5 gigahertz dual-core processor, 1.5 gigabytes of RAM, eight gigabytes of storage, and a 4.3 inch screen.
Other features include a 16 megapixel rear camera and 1.9 megapixel lense in the front according to gadgets.ndtv.
Samsung released the phone in July 2013.
