New York can close out the series with another win. The Rangers won their third game of the series on Sunday with a 4-2 victory. Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist allowed only two goals while making 24 saves, and Marc Staal, Brad Richards, Dominic Moore and Brian Boyle all scored one goal apiece to turn Tuesday into an elimination game for Philadelphia.
"We took back the advantage, and we have to win one now," Richards told the Associated Press. "We put ourselves in a good position. We were in control for most of the game. They got a little sneaky there at the end."
Flyers center Claude Giroux brought Philadelphia within one goal with 1:29 remaining, but Rangers center Brian Boyle sealed the win with an open-net goal with 15 seconds left.
"We're playing well," Giroux said. "It's a tough building to play in. Game 6 is going to be huge. We are not looking at it like it's our last game of the season. We've come back all season long when it matters, and we're going to stay confident."
Despite being up 3-1 in the series, the Rangers are determined to end the series on Tuesday.
"I've tried not to think of it that there is another opportunity," Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh said. "You've got to approach it as maybe this is our last shot at it, too. You've got to make sure you're just playing the game, playing it the right way, not thinking about the whole situation too much. Just preparing yourself, doing what you need to do to get ready to play a game, trying to win one hockey game."
