Morena Baccarin confirmed to People that she and husband Austin Chick are expecting their first baby. The two married in November 2011 but have not announced a due date. Reps for Baccarin said the actress is expected to give birth before the year is over.
The 33-year-old actress, who plays Jessica Brody on the show "Homeland", is currently filming the show's third season.
This will be the second time the "Homeland" crew will have to work around a pregnancy. Late last year, Claire Danes, who plays Carrie Mathison, gave birth to her son during the filming of the second season. Producers were able to do a good job of hiding Dane's pregnancy and will probably end up doing the same for Baccarin.
There have been numerous reports that "Homeland" fans will be in for a bunch of surprises on the new season. Maybe Baccarin's pregnancy can also be worked into the script as a surprise. Jessica Brody did have an affair with Mike, her husband's best friends, when she thought he had died in war.
TV Guide recently reported that seven new characters will be added to this season. Joining the cast will be a senator, a National Security Advisor, psychiatrist Dr. Troy Richardson, a grandmother named Lois, a couple of girls in therapy, a "handsome young man" named Leo and a forty-something who ends up being some one's one-night stand.
It's already sounding like an interesting season. "Homeland" premieres Sunday Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
