Kelly Rowland Airs ‘Dirty Laundry’ In New Song: Reveals Abusive Relationship, Jealous of Beyoncé (LISTEN)

Former Destiny's Child member, Kelly Rowland, premiered her new single "Dirty Laundry" on her SoundCloud page. In the song she comes clean about a lot of things in her past including being in an abusive relationship and being jealous of Beyoncé.

Rowland sings about resenting Beyoncé's post Destiny's Child success in the first verse.

"When my sister was on stage / killing it like a (expletive) / I was in a rage / feeling it like a (expletive)," she sings, later adding, "Post-'Survivor,' she on fire / Who wanna hear my (expletive)?"

The second and third verse reveals her abusive relationship and how her ex made her turn on everybody including Bey.

Billboard.com reported it took Rowland 12 tries before she could finally record the song without crying and at a record listening party for her label, she had to leave the room because she was so upset.

"It was very emotional. It took me days to record," Rowland tells Billboard. "I had to get past being so upset and actually sing the song, not sob through it. I always hope that my music can inspire someone, the same way other artists inspire me.

The Dream tells Billboard he had to push Rowland to go outside her comfort zone and urged the singer to write a song that would show people exactly who she was.

The song "Dirty Laundry" is on Rowland's latest album "Talk A Good Game." This is the singers fourth album overall and her second for Republic Records. The album is due June 18.

Rowland and The Dream are preparing for a summer tour "Lights Out" which kicks off May 24 in Kansas City.
