HowAboutWe has released its first standalone messaging app called "You & Me", which lets people share content with their partners.
The digital lifestyle company's new app provides a dating subscription service for singles and couples, along with different media properties that cover topics such as love, sex and relationships, according to TechCrunch.
Users can send text, photo and video messages to their partners. They can also send memos and songs.
The app stores every message for future browsing. Users can edit their photos with filters, fonts and stickers, and can use the song-sharing feature to make virtual mix tapes, Inside Mobile Apps reported.
You & Me also includes a "Halfsie" option, which lets each person create half of a finish image. In addition, the app includes a feature called Photobooth, which lets users create new photos together.
The app includes Secret, a feature that sends a "streamed up" photo that the receiver has to wipe clear to see, TechCrunch reported.
You & Me also knows when couples are together in real life, and can change the interface based on this situation. In addition, the app auto-tags both people to experiences that are being published as an activity they did with each other.
You & Me will receive updates in the future, such as a scrapbook feature that will use animated, smart photo albums to collect the user's photos, Inside Mobile Apps reported.
"People in relationships say so many important things to each other through their phones. We say simple, practical things, but we also say beautiful, intimate things - things we want to remember forever," said Aaron Schildkrout, co-founder and co-CEO of HowAboutWe. "We realized that there weren't any messaging apps that fully support how couples communicate toda y- through text, music and rich media - so we built one. We created You & Me as the ideal communication resource for people in love."
You & Me is now available to download on iOS for free.
