In the latest issue of Oprah Winfrey's O Magazine, the business tycoon and talk show host has allowed photographers into the sprawling greenery that is her Maui farm.
Winfrey, 59, is reportedly worth about $2.8 billion and currently owns abodes in Chicago, Santa Barbara, California and 780 acres on the Hawaiian island, reports the Huffington Post.
She grows produce on the land and donates it to local markets.
In a video that accompanies the article, she says the space for her farm became a "full-circle moment, because I grew up with a grandmother who was growing things. Everything that we ate came from our own little one acre. To be able to have a full circle moment with that, not in Mississippi, but in Maui, is fantastic. It's like...jewelry that comes from the earth."
The video depicts Winfrey, smiling in a straw hat and yellow gingham, amidst rows of lush vegetation.
It also features the star and her friend and fitness guru Bob Greene, describing how the idea for the farm came to fruition.
"We looked up on this hill and saw all these tiers," Bob said. "And both of us just love things that [in unison] come from the ground."
"It felt like we were not using the land to its ultimate potential and purpose and giving back to the people of the land, so right now, we're growing all these vegetables," Winfrey finished.
They expounded upon their soil that they say is rich as chocolate, helping produce magenta chard, bright red radishes and deep green kale.
All the produce is currently donated, but Winfrey and Bob said it is slated to be sold in the near future.
O, The Oprah Magazine will offer one reader and their guest the opportunity to win a four-night, all-expenses-paid trip to Maui to meet Oprah and Bob for a lunch and hike at the farm.
