Could Mama Joyce be the newest addition to the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast? Current housewife Kandi Burruss told Bravo TV that she thinks her mother would make an excellent addition to the show and is definitely "Real Housewife" material.
"She takes the drama to the 10th power. You guys finally get to see what I've seen for years. My mom needs a camera around her at all times. I used to tell my friends that I had more drama off camera than on, and now they get why," Burruss said.
Mama Joyce did bring the drama on Season 6. She frequently fought with Burruss about her fiancé (now husband) Todd Tucker. Several times she referred to the TV producer as an opportunist who was only after her daughter's money.
According to Wetpaint, Andy Cohen asked Mama Joyce during the reunion if she was trying to land a spot on the reality show.
"I'm waiting on my peach," she responded.
In other Season 7 casting news, it was rumored that Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams had been fired because producers want to "shake up" the show. According to Media Take Out, Bravo has already handed out new contracts but not everyone from Season 6 will return.
A source told MTO that producers were pleased with the ratings for Season 6 but wanted next season to have "real drama."
"They're looking to bring new women - who have real life drama in their lives," MTO wrote.
Reportedly NeNe Leakes, Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss were all given new contracts.
"The producers feel that NeNe is the foundation of the show and they are not letting her go," the site claims. "The second most popular cast member is Kandi - she just rubs everyone the right way - and she's genuinely liked by everyone. Phaedra is a lock too - given the legal issues that her family is going to be facing in coming months."
Kenya Moore was also given a new contract but it wasn't clear if she wanted to come back.
Do you think Mama Joyce should join the cast?
