Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going back to where it first started - the big screen.
Deadline reported that the "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" actors will be teaming up for first time in nine years for a new film project. Jolie has reportedly written a script, which will allow both actors to star opposite each other.
"It's in the early talking stages and nothing is solidified," Deadline said about the untitled film.
Details about the scripts or the film is being kept unwarps. No studio has picked the script up for production or distribution. According to The Hollywood Reporter, insiders believe that script is a relationship drama that focuses on a married couple who take a vacation, hoping to save their fractured relationship.
When asked by E! News if they would ever reunite on the big screen for a romantic comedy, Jolie responded, "We don't know how funny we are. And you you never know what you want to see an actual couple do. Sometimes it's better if they're not a couple."
The couple first starred together in the 2005's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," where they played married assassins who are warring with each other. The project is also famously known for the moment Pitt and Jolie began their high-profile romance.
"Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love," Jolie told the New York Times in a 2008 interview.
At the time Pitt was married to "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston, but the two divorced in January 2005 after five years of marriage. Pitt and Jolie first went public with their relationship in April 2005 and are currently engaged with six children together.
Both actors are currently busy with other projects - Pitt recently wrapped up production on "Fury," a World War II tank movie directed by David Ayer and Jolie is currently working on post-production on "Unbroken".
