Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5 pitted against each other on design.
Nothing less than an official announcement stop rumors surrounding an unannounced electronic gadget and when there is a major company like Apple involved, there are more than usual tips flowing in. There has been a new development on the long-rumored iPhone 6 and for the first time, the leaked images show a direct face-off between the unannounced handset and the Samsung Galaxy S5. The comparison is anything but subtle as the manufacturer's final mockup concludes that the next-gen Apple iPhone will be "thinner, more comfortable to hold and use" than Samsung's current flagship.
An Italian website, Macitynet.it, published new photos of an iPhone 6 alongside Galaxy S5. The comparison appears to confirm the widely reported belief that the next iPhone will be bigger than any of its predecessors, with a 4.7-inch screen, including the 4-inch iPhone 5S. Courtesy of the new leaked images, the iPhone 6 appears to look thinner than the Galaxy S5, both in width and depth. Several media reports have speculated the next Apple smartphone to be just 6mm in thickness, a close match to Gionee Elife S5.5, which claims to hold the title of the world's thinnest handset, according to leaker Sonny Dickson.
The leaked images show the iPhone 6 to feature a thin bezel and round edges in the corner. See all new pictures comparing the two handsets here.
In a separate report from Design Trend, citing The China Post and Taipei Times, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 6 in early Q3 this year and is planning to sell up to 70 million units in 2014. Other rumors surrounding the unannounced iPhone suggest Apple will use sapphire display and a more powerful processor for its iPhone 6.
With rumors of a 4.7-inch iPhone launch, less has been shared about the 5.5-inch model as reported earlier this year. A report in March suggested Apple will launch the iPhone 6 in two variants featuring different screen sizes. In the light of recent events, the launch of the 5.5-inch iPhone seems to be delayed due to the difficulties with in-cell production technology instead of film sensor.
As it appears, Apple is busy working on the iPhone 6, a new tip from an anonymous former Apple employee suggests the tech giant is also working on the next-gen EarPods for the iPhone 6, which can monitor heart rate and blood pressure. If these rumors are to be believed, Apple is revolutionizing its product lineup big time.
