Chennai sits atop the IPL standings with a 5-1 record after their 34-run win on Friday against Kolkata. Ravindra Jadeja earned the Man of the Match award for his performance, which included taking four wickets and scoring 17 runs (not out). Brendon McCullum led the team with a game-high 56 runs, and Suresh Raina added 33 runs; Mohit Sharma took three wickets.
"Touch wood, most departments are going well," Chennai coach Stephen Fleming said, via CricBuzz.com. "We have bowled well, the fielding has been excellent and our batting has been good. But we know how fickle form can be in the T20 format."
Delhi, meanwhile, is in seventh place with a 2-4 record. Their latest loss came against Rajasthan, which won by seven wickets. Quinton de Kock led Delhi with 42 runs, and Jean-Paul Duminy chipped in with 39 runs. The side struggled on the bowling front, however, and managed to take only three wickets.
"I want the boys to keep their heads up," Delhi skipper Kevin Pietersen said, "they've done all they can and that's all one can ask for."
