Wisconsin Man Arrested For Stabbing Roommate Confesses To Three Murders

A Wisconsin man who was arrested for stabbing his roommate may have killed three other people, police said.

Clayton Courtney, 28, attempted to stab his roommate to death on Sunday at their Janesville home, the New York Daily News reported. With mud and blood smeared all over his body, Courtney was arrested later that evening after a short chase. But before the incident, police say Courtney went on a rampage inside the home, breaking things before declaring he committed several murders.

"I've already killed three people tonight," Courtney said according to police, the newspaper reported. "We are all going to die."

The body of an unidentified woman was found near Rock River in Janesville the morning after Courtney's arrest. Courtney had reportedly said to his friends he was going to "drink and do drugs with a female friend" under the Memorial Street Bridge, police told the Daily News.

Another woman, 75-year-old Mary Coulthard, has not been seen since Saturday evening. But police say the body found Monday is not Coulthard's. Police are investigating to see if Courtney is connected to the missing and dead woman.

"If we take Mr. Courtney at his word, we would be looking for information on two additional victims in this community," said Police Chief Dave Moore, the Daily News reported.

Courtney, who has a chest tattoo that says "Pure Hate," also allegedly tried to set the car of a pregnant female roommate on fire during the Sunday incident. He then stormed inside the home and began shouting and breaking the kitchen cabinets.

Police arrived on the scene at North Pontiac Drive to find Courtney's roommate, Michael Clark, with several stab wounds. One was "near fatal," doctors told the newspaper.

Courtney is facing charges of attempted first-degree homicide, attempted arson, criminal damage and disorderly conduct, the Daily News reported.
