The Brooklyn Nets play the Miami Heat on Tuesday in Game 1 of their second-round 2014 NBA playoff series. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream or listen to the radio broadcast via the links listed below.
While Miami enjoyed seven days of rest after sweeping the Charlotte Bobcats, Brooklyn needed seven games to advance from the first round. The Nets closed out their series against Toronto on Sunday in a 104-103 win, thanks to a last-second block from Nets star Paul Pierce.
Brooklyn expected to meet Miami at some point in the postseason, knowing the Eastern Conference's road to the finals would likely be through the two-time defending champions.
"The goal from the beginning when we came in here was to win a championship and we understand that in order to do that, you have to go through the best," Pierce told the Associated Press. "And Miami being that team over the last couple years, we figured this was going to be a test for us."
Despite struggling against Toronto, the second-round series should be interesting: Brooklyn swept Miami during the regular season, 4-0.
"I think they know what's coming," Nets coach Jason Kidd said. "We've seen them four times. I think we have the utmost respect for them and they have the utmost respect for us. Hopefully, it can be a great series."
A good portion of Miami's time last week certainly was spent on analyzing the game tape of their last four matches against Brooklyn.
"They figured out a way to beat us for times and that hasn't happened," Heat star Dwyane Wade said. "So we've got to crack that code."
