'Orange Is The New Black' Renewed For Season 3; Laura Prepon To Return To Series As Alex Vause?

Netflix has confirmed the "Orange Is the New Black" has been renewed for a third season, according to Mashable.

The rumors began when Laura Prepon, who played Alex Vause on season one, posted an image on her Instagram photo of possible title for season three episodes. Soon after the images were released, Netflix confirmed their most-watched original series was renewed.

Prepon has been teasing her return to the series for a while. The actress spoke to The Daily Beast about her scheduling conflicts that kept her from returning to the Netflix original.

"Basically, I wasn't a series regular and wasn't under contract, and then had a scheduling conflict that came up during Season 2," Prepon said. "But I love the show and I love my character, and I told Jenji from the get-go, "I want to be in as many as I can." So we did, and I'll be in four episodes for Season 2. And then if we get a Season 3, I'll be in every episode."

"I totally missed the show. It sucks, but there's only one of me, and there's only so much time in the day," she added. "We did what we could, and if there's a Season 3, I worked it out so that wouldn't be an issue anymore."

Prepon also admitted she read the real Alex Vause' s interview with Vanity Fair and found it "really funny."

"You can totally tell that she and Piper do not like each other," Prepon told The Daily Beast. "I thought it was interesting that she said all the love stuff happened after all the drug stuff happened, and while they were doing the drug stuff they weren't even a thing. But whatever. Everyone has different viewpoints on it. When I was doing Season 1 she was completely MIA, and now she's coming out with her side of it. The bottom line is that these women do not like each other."
