Manchester City can take the top spot in the Premier League if they come away Wednesday with a win. They trail No. 1 Liverpool by one point after winning their last three games, including a 3-2 victory on Saturday against Everton.
"We have experienced players, they've been in a similar situation two years ago," City boss Manuel Pellegrini said of City's final day title win in the 2011-12 season, via BBC. "We have pressure to win, but we've had it the whole year. From the beginning of the season I always said that this team wants to win the title. Now we will try to do it."
A win against Villa would move City two points ahead of Liverpool heading into Sunday's Premier League season finale. Although City is also just four goals short of 100 for the season, according to BBC, Pellegrini insists his focus is only on winning.
"We are not thinking the goalscoring record," Pellegrini said. "We are just thinking about winning these games. But it's important to continue with our style of football that we've played since the beginning of the season. We want to finish the same way."
Aston Villa, meanwhile, sits 14th in the Premier League with 38 points. They're coming off a 3-1 win on Saturday over Hull City.
