HGTV Pulls Plug 'Flip It Forward' After Benham Brothers Anti-Gay Controversy (VIDEO)

Home improvement network HGTV has pulled the plug on upcoming real estate show, "Flip it Forward" after learning that hosts and twin brothers Jason and David Benham were anti-gay activists.

"HGTV has decided not to move forward with the Benham Brothers' series," the network wrote on its Facebook page Wednesday, without offering further explanation for its decision.

The day before, HGTV issued a statement saying they were "currently in the process of reviewing all information about the Benhams."

"Flip it Forward," which was scheduled to premiere in October, followed the Benham brothers and their work helping a family transform a fixer-upper into their dream home without spending a fortune. David and Jason have reportedly been buying and renovating houses for years.

The announcement came hours after Right Wing Watch reported on the brothers' previous statements against homosexuality, gay marriage and abortion. The publication labeled David as an "anti-gay extremist."

The brothers, who are devout Christians, reportedly have a history of supporting their church's views against gay rights and reproductive choice. On their website, David is described as a father of five and "a follower of Christ." Jason, who is a father of four, is quoted giving thanks to god for his successful business.

According to USA Today, during the 2012 Democratic National Convention rally in Charlotte, N.C., the brothers expressed their views against gay marriage. Right Wing Watch reported that Jason and David also had strong views on abortion, divorce, pornography, perversion and adultery.

David told conservative radio host Janet Mefferd that the protest was a planned action to stop "homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation" and "demonic ideologies tak[ing] our universities and our public school systems."

A YouTube video also showed David protesting outside of an abortion clinic in 2013. David and Jason are the sons of Flip Benham, a controversial evangelical minister and head of Operation Save America, an anti-abortion clinic group.

In a statement to the Christian Post David wrote: "For the men on the other side of this vote, I'll say a couple of things: You'll never find the love of a father in the arms of another man... The emotional hurt that you've experienced can only be healed through a life-giving relationship with the very one that created you."

Do you think HGTV made the right decision?
