FOX cuts their losses by canceling four shows.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the broadcasting company dropped three freshman series "Dads," "Enlisted," and "Surviving Jack" and 2013 drama "Rake." Andy Samberg's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is the only comedy from the network's 2013-14 lineup that will be renewed.
"Dads," a comedy that followed the lives of two video game developers played by Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi, after their fathers moved in with them. "Dads" only averaged a 1.7 rating with adults 18-49, with 4.1 million viewers overall.
Military comedy "Enlisted," was also canceled after only nine episodes. The show exposed the lives of three brothers played by Geoff Stults, Chris Lowell and Parker Young, who were all assigned to the same post. "Enlisted" averaged a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 and brought in three million viewers.
"Surviving Jack" starred Chris Meloni and Rachael Harris and was based on the book "I Suck At Girls" by Justin Halpern. The show averaged a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49, with 5.1 million viewers.
Peter Duncan's drama "Rake" averaged a 1.2 rating for adults 18-49, and topped out at 4.7 million viewers. The show, which stars Greg Kinnear as a criminal defense lawyer with a serious gambling problem, struggled to keep ratings and was eventually moved to Friday nights in March.
The network also passed on comedy pilots "No Place Like Home," "Fatrick" and "Dead Boss". FOX is still deciding the future of comedies "Sober Companion" and "Cabot College."
The cancellations comes days before FOX announces its 2014-2015 schedule. FOX has also ordered the Batman-related prequel "Gotham," hip-hop drama "Empire" and remake of Spanish drama "Red Band Society" with Octavia Spencer.
