A Florida woman was arrested Monday after bulldozing a mobile house of her neighbor whom she disliked.
Ana Maria Moreta Folch, a resident of St Augustine, Fla., was charged with criminal mischief, a third-degree felony. Police documents show that the 62-year-old called a heavy equipment operator and said that she was the owner of the trailer and wanted to demolish the house and its septic tank.
She told the contractor that she had the house key and that nobody stayed there. However, the neighbors arrived Monday when the work was underway. They informed St John's County Sheriff deputies who arrived at the scene, reports The Florida Times-Union.
Upon arrest Moreta Folch described her neighbors as unpleasant and that they had tried to break into her car. The estimated damage done to the house was at $25,000.
The house owner Maria Gottfried told the deputy she had stayed in the mobile home since 2006 and never had any trouble with Moreta Folch. However, she also added that she never gave her house keys to her.
Moreta Folch was released Wednesday on a $10,000 bail. It was not clear whether she had an attorney.
Problems with neighbors have led to such untoward incidents across the world. Early April, a resident of Indian city Mumbai burned down the neighbor's apartment. The culprit, who set the same house on fire five times previously, wanted to buy the apartment. However, the owner was unwilling to sell it. This upset the man. He harassed the family for three years after which he decided to set the house ablaze, police said.
