Boston Transit Officer, Sean Conway, Saves Man From Subway Jump (VIDEO)

A transit officer in Boston saved a man who tried to jump onto subway tracks on Wednesday, Fox4KC.com reported.

In surveillance footage, a man is seen walking to the edge of the platform at Park Street Station. Once he attempts to jump, Detective Sean Conway comes in and snatches him mid-air, bringing him back to safety.

Though the next train wasn't scheduled to arrive for a few minutes, police said the man could have landed on the electrified third rail.

Conway said the unidentified man -- believed to be suicidal and intoxicated at the time of the incident -- has thanked him for saving his life.

The Twitter account for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) uploaded a photo of Conway shaking hands Chief MacMillan for his heroic actions on Thursday.

Last year, a group of MBTA passengers saved a man from falling onto the tracks at North Station.

Surveillance footage showed a 33-year-old Malden man walking off the Orange Line platform and fall directly onto the tracks. Good samaritans immediately noticed the man's fall and jumped down to rescue him within seconds.

The man told a police officer he had two drinks earlier in the night to celebrate passing the medical boards and did not remember falling on to the tracks. After he was rescued, he was alert and conscious.

An MBTA spokesman said the man was not in danger of a train at the moment but mentioned there was no way to know when the next one was coming.

He sustained a minor head injury and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.
