Statewide Manhunt For California Firefighter Accused Of Murdering Girlfriend (VIDEO)

A statewide manhunt is underway for a California fire chief suspected of fatally stabbing his girlfriend to death, NBC reported.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection battalion chief allegedly killed 26-year-old Sarah Douglas at their Sacramento home last week.

Orville "Moe" Fleming, 55, reportedly met Douglas on MyRedBook.com, where police said she had been an escort in the past. Investigators believe that since her killing, Fleming may have reached out to someone else through the same dating website, Fox40.com reported.

After she met Fleming two years ago, Douglas did not use the website again, detectives told Fox40.com.

But authorities told the station that they are aware of a reported sex tape made in the firehouse where Fleming worked. The video reportedly showed the two having sex with several other firefighters on fire trucks.

"No matter what her history is, no matter what people believe about her, she was violently murdered," Sacramento County Sheriff's spokesperson Lisa Bowman told Fox40.com

Authorities expanded their search statewide after failing to find Fleming in the area. Fleming is known to be an avid outdoorsman who has keys to fire gates, trails and Cal Fire facilities.

Those keys give Fleming access to hundreds of miles of back roads, and other state supplies and facilities throughout California, a spokesperson for Cal Fire said.

"We believe someone picked him up and took him somewhere," Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Bowman told NBC News. "We do not know who that is.

Santa Cruz County deputies are keeping an eye out for the suspect, but at this point there is no active search taking place in the Santa Cruz Mountains, according to the sheriff's department.

Fleming is believed to have two guns with him -- a .45-caliber pistol and a .25-caliber pistol -- and is considered dangerous, according to NBC.
