Elin Nordegren Graduates From Rollins College, References Tiger Woods In Speech

Elin Nordegren, former model and ex-wife of Tiger Woods, made a joke about her relationship with the golf star in her commencement speech on Saturday, UPI reported.

Nordegren graduated from Rollins College in Florida with a degree in psychology and 3.96 GPA.

"When I entered my student advisor office in the fall of 2005, I was 25 years old, I had just recently moved to America, I was married without children. Today, nine years later, I'm a proud American, and I have two beautiful children... but I'm no longer married," she said.

"It was right after I had taken Communications and the Media that I was unexpectedly thrust into the media limelight... and I probably should have taken more notes in that class."

While she joked about her infamous past, she never actually brought up her ex-husband's name.

After taking nine years to finish her degree, she was chosen to speak as the outstanding graduating senior. However, she added she was surprised that she was picked as the speaker.

"I've been called a woman with no words in the media, and criticized for not talking too much," she said.

She also credited her college courses to helping her get through a difficult divorce.

"My psychology and law class helped me through some of the most challenging times of my life that involved legal matters," she said. "It offered me a place of peace in the wild storm of my personal life."

Nordegren and Woods finalized their divorce in 2010 -- one year after her ex-husand's mistresses came to light.
