A 3-year-old boy was saved from a stolen SUV after it crashed in a Chicago neighborhood on Sunday, ABC News reported.
According to authorities, the motorist fled the scene after driving the stolen vehicle into a building around 11:45 p.m. Shortly after, the car caught fire.
A Good Samaritan approached the scene and found the young boy underneath the passenger seat. The witness and a police sergeant pulled him out and began CPR until first responders arrived.
The boy was stabilized and transported to University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital. As on Monday, his condition is unknown.
His mother told police she knew the driver and also knew her son was with him at the time of the incident. However, authorities are still searching for him.
As of Monday morning, no suspects were in custody.
