Blackberry's Z3 Jakarta Edition smartphone will be the first customized mobile device for Indonesia when it's released on Friday.
The company introduced the 2,199,000 IDR phone at a launch event in Jakarta, Indonesia, Tuesday, according to a press release.
The telecommunication corporation also said its products have improved the way consumers live in the country.
"BlackBerry has changed the way millions of people around the world stay connected. From conception to delivery, the BlackBerry Z3, Jakarta Edition was designed specifically with our Indonesian customers in mind," the company said in a statement.
Blackberry stated that the device will give consumers ample opportunities to interact with one another.
"This device gives users more ways to connect, share and communicate, providing the best tool for secure, reliable communications and collaboration with friends, family and co-workers," the statement continued. "Priced affordably, the BlackBerry Z3, Jakarta Edition will extend the full capabilities of the BlackBerry 10 Operating System version 10.2.1 experience for a new generation of customers in Indonesia."
Consumers can buy the device at all Blackberry Lifestyle stores throughout the country. Official retailers licensed to sell the phone will also have it on hand, according to the press release.
Blackberry initially introduced the phone at April's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The company's recently hired CEO told Reuters that other countries will soon receive the phone.
"It's a 3G phone, and we have a plan to expand the phone to different parts of southeast Asia after Indonesia, and in addition we have a plan to go global with an LTE (high speed 4G) version of it sometime in the future," John Chen told Reuters.
Chen expects the phone's expansion will take place over the next year and a half.
"We don't want to lose the rest of the market, but for the next 18 months, I think you see us very much intent on going back and winning the regulated industries," he said.
The Blackberry Z3 will come with a five inch display screen, touchscreen and durable battery, according to the press release.
