And then there were four!
Monday's night episode of "Dancing With the Stars" showed the shocking elimination of Olympic ice dancer Charlie White and his professional partner Sharna Burgess.
White, who was considered an early frontrunner as soon as the dancing competition began, was place in the bottom two against ice skating partner Meryl Davis and her associate Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Throughout the show the judges, along with host Tom Bergero,n expressed their disbelief over the bottom three couples in jeopardy of leaving the show - Davis and White were joined in the bottom three by Paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy.
White and Burgess danced a foxtrot and earned a perfect score of 40. The Olympic ice dancer earned 36 points for his second dance, which was a samba. After learning his fate, White told Bergeron that he enjoyed the dancing competition journey and would continue to support Davis from the sidelines.
"I think all these people are so deserving. From start to finish, it has been an amazing journey," White said. "Now I can 100% be a cheerleader - Team Meryl - love you."
However, White was not happy with the show producers for setting him against Davis.
"The thing is, you don't know if it's always the bottom two," White explained to E! News. "Honestly to me, that felt contrived. I wasn't happy that they pitted me against Meryl like that... I think our love triumphs over what makes for an interesting moment. I love that girl. We have been through 27 years and won an Olympic gold medal. I'm disappointed because we had a few more special tricks up our sleeve for the finale and certainly getting close, it's tough."
Actress Candace Cameron Bure, singer-actor James Maslow, Purdy and their professional dance partners will head into next week's finale with Davis.
For the "Dancing with the Stars" season 18 semi-finals, Bure danced a romantic Viennese waltz with Mark Ballas and earned 34 out of 40 points. For her second number, the pair danced a jazz to Janet Jackson's "Nasty" and earned 38 points, for a total of 72 points.
Davis and Chmerkovskiy topped the leaderboard with perfect scores for their two routines. Purdy and her pro partner Derek Hough earned 39 points for their quickstep and 39 points for her second dance, a stylish jazz.
Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd earned a perfect 40 points for their cha-cha to Michael Jackson's newly released song "Love Never Felt So Good," but only their second dance, a rumba, received 36 points from the judges.
