Justin Bieber can now add theft to his rap sheet.
CNN reported that the "Baby" singer has been accused of attempted robbery. Media Relations officials from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the 20-year-old singer is under investigation for allegedly stealing a cell phone.
According to reports released on Monday, Bieber and his friends were at a miniature-golf and batting cage complex in Sherman Oaks, Calif., when they got into an "altercation," with some men. The singer reportedly noticed a woman talking pictures of the incident between the two parties.
Bieber allegedly demanded to see the woman's phone so he could delete any pictures, but when she refused, he went into her purse and grabbed the device. The woman told law officials that she began wrestling with Bieber, trying to get her phone back. Bieber was unable to access the phone because it was locked.
The San Fernando Valley woman then told Bieber she just wanted her 13-year-old daughter, who was reportedly crying as the situation unfolded, to be able to meet him. She claimed the Canadian-born singer then screamed at her and her daughter saying, "You're humiliating yourself in front of your daughter... why don't you just get out of here."
"Detectives are currently interviewing the victim. It was reported at 10.30 p.m. Monday night to our Devonshire location and occurred earlier in the day in the Valley," Rosario Herrera, a LAPD officer, told The Hollywood Reporter. "He (Bieber) has been accused of attempted robbery," Herrera said. "As of right now, no arrest has been made and detectives are currently interviewing the victim."
Sgt. Paul McLaughlin of LAPD's Devonshire Division confirmed reports that Bieber had been accused of taking someone's phone, but the singer has yet to be interviewed, charged or arrested. Bieber was not accused of keeping the phone.
This incident is the latest in a long line of run-ins with the police for Bieber.
Earlier this year, the pop singer was arrested in Miami Beach, charged with drag racing and driving under the influence. He was also arrested and charged with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto. In February, Bieber was investigated in connection with an egg-throwing incident at a neighbor's house.
